I have a hand-spinning group and we meet every few weeks to spin, and we also meet weekly at a cafe to knit :) Sometimes I have my children with me and sometimes I don't, but I always enjoy knitting. My children enjoy it too, and we'll often sit down and knit together, or take turns reading while we knit.Kimberlyhttp://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Novascotianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-615729695440639670.post-43966113869785341572010-10-14T05:33:48.053-04:002010-10-14T05:33:48.053-04:00That sounds much the way I feel about my monthly l...That sounds much the way I feel about my monthly lunch with some other mums I met through my daughters early intervention centre. It is such a blessing to be able to relax and talk. Sometimes I don't agree with everything the other mums say but I learn new ideas and to look at life from different angles.Maritahttp://leechbabe.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-615729695440639670.post-19207256295843416002010-10-13T21:58:33.212-04:002010-10-13T21:58:33.212-04:00Yay for knitting!

But I do so look forward to my needles that so often sit on the sofa throughout the day, waiting patiently for my attention.

Speaking of, I'm off the computer now to go knit a few rows before I just pass out. There's something so refreshing and meaningful about meeting with a group of people with a common purpose. I can already tell I'm going to be a little more relaxed about leaving our second child. :) You just do need a break sometimes — to miss them, as you said!Lauren Waynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07500733577920040395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-615729695440639670.post-73209683739276639052010-10-12T12:30:39.180-04:002010-10-12T12:30:39.180-04:00What a great tradition! I don't have that, exactly, but I do find getting out at night on a regular basis (and doing something creative on a regular basis) helps SO much. As you say, just knowing its there, knowing its coming, helps you make it through the more challenging moments the rest of the time....Kristin @ Intrepid Murmuringshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12152714909026557763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-615729695440639670.post-60982557079146887852010-10-12T10:23:48.158-04:002010-10-12T10:23:48.158-04:00I love our Thursday group! We give so much to our families, jobs, others that there's never much time to fill our own reserves. Thursday is "Fill Me Up" Night. We share our tears, frustrations, funny stories. Some come with deep pain and just need a brief respite and a warm smile. We all need a place to feel loved, respected, wanted--warts and all. Thursday Night Knitting is that place. It's a safe place to vomit frustration on the table and a chance to listen to others, offer advice, sympathy and an understanding heart because we've all "been there" or close to "there".
Oh, and did I mention that we knit? And spin? And crochet? And quilt? And embroider? The talent is amazing. Tips are openly shared. The oooos and aaaaahhhs over completed projects are the best medicine around to heal a problematic week.
Love you Kellie, love what you bring to our group. Love your humor, your understanding, your friendship.cynfulknitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13906092962667149920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-615729695440639670.post-78754926753480472652010-10-12T09:26:06.475-04:002010-10-12T09:26:06.475-04:00Beautiful! And what a great example of being self-aware, of taking steps to improve. Thank you so much for sharing!Dionna @ Code Name: Mamahttp://codenamemama.comnoreply@blogger.com
