 We all want the very best for our children. We all want them to be their best. And we all want to help them to be their best. This is what makes a good parent, right?

 One pitfall of this mindset, though, is when we “help” our children to be "better" by pointing out all of the things that are wrong, or areas for them to improve. Sometimes it is helpful to point out a problem or an area for improvement. Most of the time, however, our children only hear that we are finding fault with them.

And when we fall into a pattern where we become a stream of criticism, it can really wear our children down.
